South Florida Home Values Continue Hot Streak
The momentum continues for home values in South Florida with the latest statistics from the Florida Association of Realtors regarding the tri-county area. Palm Beach County rose 20 percent to $408,200 over last December. In Broward the median rose 22 percent to $369,000 and in Miami-Dade the increase was an amazing 27 percent to $377,700. While sales have been leveling off to a normal absorption rate throughout South Florida, the Florida real estate industry enjoyed a record setting year for closings totaling 248,565 homes sold. The National Association of Realtors announced that 2005 finished at an all time high of 7.072 million homes sold nationwide!!
South Florida Ranks 1st for Small Business
South Florida’s strong population growth, density of small businesses and strong local economy gives it a first-place ranking among America’s best metropolitan areas for small business. The study by Bizjournals.com used a 12-part formula to rate small business vitality in the 50 metropolitan areas with populations larger than 1 million.
