Those are the major advantages of living in apartment complexes. You may be the owner of a large house in Gurgaon but power goes out at least a few hours a day and today's inverters will only let you operate a fan or light appliances. Certainly not ACs. If you're willing to spend big bucks, you can go import or purchase an electrical generator but then you've got a high risk appliance on your property that needs constant maintenance.
On the other hand, you can run your air conditioner as often as you like and your apartment can be a true cool comfort zone 24 hours a day.
I have thankfully not had to experience it, but the water delivery problems in Delhi and Gurgaon are only getting worse. People in parts of Delhi have to wake up at 5:30am to get a few buckets of water. If you live in an apartment, though, you will enjoy continous water supply.
We hate to say it, but the truth is that Gurgaon has some crime. Breakins and burglaries are regularly reported. Violent crime, thankfully, is not as common. Again, would you rather be living in a complex with tight security or in a house that has no security? And God forbid if you hear a noise at night, you can have 15 security guards at your door in seconds with just one yell or a buzz of the intercom.
Finally, the conveniences. Most complexes will have an onsite Chemist, onsite Shopping strip, onsite maintenance staff, onsite electrician, onsite cable maintenance etc etc. Living in an apartment means that the headaches are most likely to be passed on to the community. Less hassle, better quality of life.
Any way you cut it, if you're looking for a cushy lifestyle with less hassles, apartment living is the way to go.
